Flanged Expansion Joints: Key Benefits & Features

A flanged expansion joint consists of a flexible element (body) made out of rubber, metal, PTFE, or fabric containing two flanges (metal) on each side that conform to standard pipe flange dimensions (ANSI, DIN, JIS, etc.) for connection to existing piping systems. The flexible portion can be made from Rubber (such as EPDM, NBR, and Neoprene). The flanges at both ends are typically constructed of either carbon steel, stainless steel, or ductile iron, depending on such factors as pressure ratings and the environment in which the joint will be used.
