The European Accessibility Act (EAA), adopted in 2019, aims to improve access for people with disabilities and older adults across the EU. Effective from June 28, 2025, it requires businesses trading in the EU inside or outside the region to meet specific accessibility standards for selected products and services. Building on existing rules like the EU Web Accessibility Directive, the EAA extends accessibility requirements to the private sector to promote a more inclusive market.
