Satta Matka, a popular gambling game in India, traces its origins back to the 1960s. The game was initially introduced by Ratan Khatri, who is considered the “Matka King.” However, its roots go even further back to the 1950s, when people used to place bets on the opening and closing rates of cotton traded on the New York Cotton Exchange. When this practice was banned in 1961, gamblers sought new ways to continue betting, which led to the birth of Satta Matka.
